What are the canals of Hering?
A
Near the portal canal (triad), but still within the lobule, the bile canaliculi transform into the short canals of Hering. These canals contain two types of cells:
- Hepatocytes
- Cholangiocytes

What are cholangicytes?
A
Colangiocytes contain contractile elements which aid in the unidirectional bile flow toward the portal canal.
