2
Q

What are 4 benefits of computer Networks ?

A

Sharing Files is easier - Since Network users can access the same files

Can share the same hardware ( printers )

Can install and update in all compuers at once

Can communicate across a network cheaply and easily ( eg email )

Q

What are 4 Risks of a computer Network ?

A

Can be expensive - often needs alof of extra hardware

Networks can be vulnerable to hacking and malware. Easily spreads between Networked computers

Some networks are dependent on one or more servers. If those servers go down can be very disruptive for people trying to use the network

Large network can be difficult to manage

16
Q

What does the transport Layer cover ?

A

Setting up communications between two devices, splitting data into packets and checking packets are corectly sent and delivered.

17
Q

Protocal examples of Transport Layer ?

A

TCP , UDP

18
Q

What does a Internet Layer cover ?

A

Adding Ip adresses to data packets , directing them between devices and handiling traffic . Used by routers

19
Q

Protocal example of Internet Layer ?

A

Ip

20
Q

What does Link layer cover ?

A

Passing data over the physical network. Responsible for how data is sent as electrical signals over cables , wireless and other hardware

21
Q

Protocal examples of Link layer ?

A

Wifi , ethernet

22
Q

What is the purpose and use of Ethernet ?

A

Operates in the link layers and handles transmissions of data between devices

23
Q

What is the purpose and use of Wifi ?

A

Its commonly used in Wlans and operates on the Link layer . Transmission of data
