Q
Duralumin;
What type of alloy is it?
What's it made from?
What are it's properties?
Positives / negatives?
A
Non ferrous alloy
4 % copper 95 % aluminium
High strength
- Very expensive, not easily recyclable
\+ Can use less as it's very strong; lighter

Q

Why might you use stainless steel for a sink?

A

It doesn’t corrode in moisture and air, and is chemical resistant so can be cleaned with bleach
Stainless steel is malleable; can be press formed into the shape of the sink. It also has an ‘attractive’ silver appearance making it aesthetically pleasing.
Stainless steel is tough and wear resistant so will resist scratching and indentation.
