Alliteration
Assonance - repetition of vowel sounds in the middle of words, e.g. ‘Hoover’ and ‘manoeuvre’
Onomatopoeia - a written sound, e.g. Buzz

A

Repetition - used to add emphasis or persuasiveness. It can add power to a subject to help to a dramatic climax

It allows the audience to understand whether certain characters get along, or if there is tension.
It also tells you about a characters personality through their interaction with other characters

What is the difference between dialogue in literary texts and natural conversation?

A

In plays and novels, the dialogue tends to be organised and fluent.
In everyday conversations, dialogue contains a lot of non-fluency features due to its spontaneity
