Q

What is the evidence for the big bang?

A

Red Shift (Edward Hubble) : light waves become more red as they move further away. He discovered that distant galaxies are moving away from us and the universe is constantly expanding at a rapid rate so scientists have worked backwards to the original explosion. Background radiation left over as an echo of the big bang

Q

How did the Big Bang actually work?

A

The universe began as a small, incredibly dense and hot singularity that contained particles (smaller than a pinhead) but then it exploded which formed a cloud of gas and dust , Particles combined to eventually form the sun, planets, earth etc

Q

What is GUT?

A

The Grand Unified Theory. Scientists like Atkins and Dawkins say that one day science will be able to explain everything. God is used to fill in the gaps in human knowledge and the more science expands, the more God is abandoned
