A

W/c seat height -
measure from heel to popliteal fold, ADD 2 INCHES to allow clearance of foot rest.

Armrest height -
Measure seat of chair to olecranon (c elbow flexed to 90deg) then ADD 1 INCH

Healing by intention :

A

primary intention - sutures, staples, adhesions. Min scarring, heal quickly (surgical incisions)

secondary intention - will close on own (primary intention) without superficial closure but crrently has infection, tissue loss, debris, irregular and unaproximated borders (HUGE scars) ex: pressure ulcers

tertiary intention - “delayed primary intention healing” wound intentionally left open (risk for sepsis) then close wound with staples etc

seat width, seat back height, and standard seat depth :

A

seat width - measure widest aspect of buttocks/hips/thighs and ADD 2 INCHES for bulky clothing (approx 18” for adults)

Standard back height - measure from seat of chair to axilla c shoulder flexed to 90 then SUBTRACT 4 INCHES for propulsion and clearance of inferior angle of scapula), avg 16-16.5”

Standard seat depth - measure from posterior buttocks along lateral thigh to popliteal fold to dec pressure on calf then SUBTRACT 2 INCHES (avg 16”)
