Q

Pearson correlation coefficient (r)

A

r is always between −1 and +1. The closer the absolute value of r is to 1, the *stronger the linear correlation between the 2 variables

Positive r value–>positive correlation (as one variable INC, the other variable DEC)

Negative r value–>negative correlation (as one variable INC, the other variable DEC)

Coefficient of determination = r 2 (value that is usually reported).
