A

-compromise created by the Framers to ensure that the president was chosen intelligently & w/ the input of each of the states
-carrot to smaller states for their support of the Constitution (small states didn’t want big fed gov soo..)
(2 senators & atleast 1 house) (every state gets member of EC for each member they send to Congress)

total of 538 electoral votes (535 member of Congress & 3 for the District of Columbia)
majority of 270 wins the presidency
if no one reaches 270, HOR elects pres; 1 vote per state

A

ppl who have demonstrated great loyalty to their party &/or the candidate
-Not members of Congress, (only represent them)
(delegates are like teams waiting)
