TSR: post surgery

phase I (hospital)

A

2-6 days

goals: protect healing structures, pain control, indep functional mobility for transfers/dressing/ambulation, education, HEP

common precautions- PROM for up to 6 wks, abduction pillow up to 8 wks, ER limited to 30 deg with humerus in adduction, sling for comfort

phase 2 (outpatient, early ROM)

A

0-6 wks

goals: protection, pain control, improve sleep, normalize circumference measurement, mob of scar, ability to demonstrate norm posture and inc ROM

goals: return to activities below 90 deg flexion, inc ROM, improved, inc muscle flexibility, improve neuromuscular control, inc strength, protection
