Reproduction of Conifers?

A

Pollen drawn into pollen chamber

Pollin germinates to form a pollen tube which grows to the egg of one of possibly 3 archegonium

Whats different with the reproduction of Pinus?

A

The fusion of male and female gametes can be delayed for a year or more after pollination

A
Seed coat (integument) is of the parent generation(2n). In the integument is the megagametophyte generation (female n). Tissue surrounding the embryo (offspring2n)
