• Allah told all Angels and Jinn to bow down to Adam.
• IBLIS would not prostrate himself to Adam, so Allah cursed him until the day of judgement and couldn’t go to heaven with the other angels.
• Also called shaytan.

What does Iblis do to humans

• try to tempt humans to choose wrong
• he can test and Muslims faith but is not as powerful as Allah, he can’t hurt people unless Allah allows him to.
• Muhammad warned Muslims that Shaytan is desperate to divert them from the worship of Allah so beware of him in matters of religion.
• people have to find their own solutions to their problems.

What is free will and what does it mean for humans?

• Allah allows this evil force to exist but he wants us to act in accordance with his rules and will judge us on the way we lived our lives
• we have free will because we can choose how to live our lives and Allah didn’t allow this evil force then we wouldn’t have free will because we couldn’t choose to do evil instead of good
