This event was massive demonstration for Civil Rights. Where everyone came to join in the boycott.
March on Washington
Vice President, was quickly sworn into president after Kennedyβs death.
Lyndon B. Johnson
The act banned segregation in public places. It also outlawed discrimination in the workplaces on the basis of color, gender, or national origin.
Civil Rights Act
This law gave the federal government new powers to protect African Americans voting rights.
Voting Act
It allowed nine black students to attend Central High school. These Students became known as the Little Rock Nine.
Little Rock Nine
She boarded a bus that was reserved for blacks. When the bus was full and there was no more room for whites. The bus driver told her to move to a different seat. She didnβt and got arrested.
Rosa Parks
Thousands of African Americans stopped riding the buses.
Bus Boycott
He was a young Baptist Minister. Already had a reputation as a powerful speaker whose words could inspire listeners. He believed in non-violence.
