Q

What is the second step of ultrafiltration?

A

The membranes between the blood vessels and the Bowman’s capsule act like filters, so big molecules like proteins and blood cells are not squeezed out. They stay in the blood.

Q

What is reabsorbed in the nephron? How?

A

1) All the sugar is reabsorbed. Using Active Transport.
2) Sufficient ions are reabsorbed. Excess ions are not. Using Active Transport

Q

What continues out of the nephron? Where do they go?

A

The remaining substances which weren’t reabsorbed (including urea) continue out the nephron, into the ureter and down to the bladder as urine.
