A
He thought Hitler’s aims were reasonable
To avoid tension/aggression

What were the justifications for appeasement?
A
- Hitler was also against communism
- Empire/commonwealth/USA wouldn’t support war
- No one was ready for another Great War
- GB’s own issues took priority
- ToV unfair anyway

- Encouraged Hitler to be aggressive
- Let Germany grow too strong
- Scared the USSR
- Put trust in Hitler’s promises
