This is a place where something happens, or is set, or that had particular events associated with it, causing different behaviours.
It takes into account the effect that people have on their setting. It is shaped by the people, cultures and customs within it.
What is meant by sense of place?
This is the subjective or emotional attachment a person has to a place.
How do people develop a sense of place?
They develop a sense of place through knowledge and experience of a particular area.

It is located in Somerset, 23 miles south of Bristol.

Is the sense of a place always the same?
No, it may be completely different when looked at from another’s perspective.
Why do people sometimes have different perceptions of the same place?
This could be because they have different experiences of the place and may have visited at different times.
Why can different place-meanings that people attach to an area create conflict?
If people have contrasting views of a place, they may want it to be treated differently which could create conflict.
