Antigen A, anti-B antibodies
What antigens and antibodies are present in blood group B?
Antigen B, anti-A antibodies
What antigens and antibodies are present in blood group AB?
Antigens A and B, neither anti-A nor anti-B antibodies
What antigens and antibodies are present in blood group O?
Neither A nor B antigen, makes anti-A and anti-B antibodies
What is the main function of granulocytes?
To protect against foreign material and remove waste materials
What are the types of granulocytes?
Neutrophils, Eosinophils, Basophils
What is the role of neutrophils in the immune response?
They engulf and kill microbes by phagocytosis
What is pus composed of?
Dead tissue cells, dead and live microbes, and phagocytes killed by microbes
What is the universal donor blood type?
O, compatible with all groups
What is the universal recipient blood type?
AB, compatible with all groups
What happens to neutrophil levels after strenuous exercise?
There is a physiological increase in circulating neutrophils
What are the leukocyte types and their normal ranges?
Granulocytes: 2.5 to 7.5, Eosinophils: 0.04 to 0.44, Basophils: 0.015 to 0.1, Lymphocytes: 1.5 to 3.5
What conditions can increase neutrophil counts?
Infection, tissue damage, metabolic disorders, and heavy smoking
