A

Original succession act changed to exclude Mary in devise of May 1553 and have LJG as heir. Evidence done under Northumberland as would preserve power. However under Ed as wanted to preserve Protestantism. Mary escaped to East Anglia. After Edward died 6 July - Mary claimed herself legitimate queen as LJG rebellion collapsed.

Anti - Somerset faction and Somerset’s fall

A

1)Group disliked Somerset’s methods and policies. Paget - ignored. Warwick - wanted more power. Wriothesely - religion. 2) Somerset retreated to Hampton Court and then Windsor. However Edward claimed he was prisoner. Somerset removed. 3) Further plotting led to execution on 22 Jan 1552.
