Q

How do you use the crossover method?

A

Al 3+ and 0 2- bond to make Al^2 O^3 because you swap the charges over to give you the numbers of atoms of each element

Q

What is important when a transition metal is put into a compound and the compound is displayed as a word equation?

A

Include the roman numerals after the transition metal

E.g. Iron (III) oxide

the Roman numerals show the charge on the ion
