What is nitrous oxide/oxygen protocol?

A
  • Start 100% O2 (5-7 L flow in adults, 3-5 in kids)
  • Tritration of NO 30-40 %, 50% is max
  • 100% oxygen for 5 minutes.
  • Patient alert, awake, and oriented.

What are the recommended doses of 2% lidocaine for pediatric patients? 4% septocaine? 2% Mepivacaine? Kg to pounds conversion?

A
Lido= 4.4 mg/kg. Max 300 mg
Septo= 7 mg/kg. Max 500 mg
Mep= 4.4 mg/kg. Max 300 mg

When should panos be taken? WHy?

A

After eruption of max central incisors and at the beginning of lateral incisors eruption.
This is all done to see angulation of canine eruption.
