yellow-colored compound, produced when hemoglobin is broken down by spleen

water insoluble, transported to liver by albumin

what is conjugated bilirubin?
A
once bilirubin is dropped off by albumin it is changed by the liver
it is then a component of bile and excreted in stool and urine

it is formed in hepatocytes and aids in fat digestion in the small intestine

some is excreted in stool and some it is reabsorbed in the portal vein
