Q

Where is the retropharyngeal space found? What is the significance?

A

Between pre-tracheal fascia and the pre-vertebral fascia.

Retropharyngeal abscess - rare, in children most often.

Infection of space. Can spread inferiorly into mediastinum causing dangerous infection.
