Purpose of iodine removal system
A
Reduce concentration of f.p. Particulates ( iodine & cesium), for acceptable levels for personnel
Not effective at removing noble gases

Describe components of iodine removal system
A
Two units, on each side of one unit
- 6 roughing filters (large particulate)
- 6 HEPA filters (small particulate)
- 6 charcoal filters (iodine….)
Each unit has air pulled through it by fan (117’)
Disch flow above 140’

Precautions and limitations for iodine removal system?
A
Not designed for accident conditions, charcoal can catch fire
