What you did to the bottom, do to the top.

3/4 + 2/5 = 3/20 + 2/20 which = 15/20 + 8/20 which = 23/20

Simplify to lowest form. ie 1 3/20

If you have a whole number before fraction, add the two whole numbers together. ie 1 3/4 + 2 1/4 = 3….etc

Find lowest common denominator. Then do to the top whatever you did to the bottom.

Then minus the 2 top numbers.

If you have whole number then minus them both from each other.

Multiply fractions

Top x top.

Bottom x bottom.

ie 3/4 x 2/6 = 6/24

Then simplify to 1/4

Division of fractions

First, make top heavy. ie 4 1/2 = 9/2

Formula - copy, change, flip

Copy first fraction, change divide to x then flip second fraction. Then do top x top and bottom x bottom.

Eg 7/3 / 7/4 = 7/3 x 4/7 =28/21

Them simplify to mixed fraction ie 1 1/3
