-it’s a stratified/systematic sampling method
-you had to walk down the street and record every other shop you walk passed
-you had to write down the shops name, the shop type, and weather it sold convenience or comparison goods.

there was a balance between convenience goods (food) and services (cafes or restaurants), and comparison (hair dressers, dental practice)

not many people were passing by - roughly 10
many cars passed by- roughly 30

A

-it’s a random sampling method
-you had to politely go and ask people if you could ask them about there experience and judgement of the area.

what did you find from doing the questionnaire on Caledonian road?

A
  • people felt very safe during the day and relatively safe during the night
  • most people were residents or worked within 2 miles
  • people said it was environmentally okay.
  • people said they would recommend living there (good transport links and nice community with independent shops)

what did you find from doing the questionnaire in kings cross centre?

A
  • people felt very safe during the day and the night.
  • people were there for work.
  • they said the environment was very good
  • and people said that they may recommend the area as it is a nice modern area with good transport links however it’s very expensive.
