Terms
Point
no dimension (length,width,height) has location
Line
a straight line that extends infinitely in 2 directions
Line Segment
a straight line with a beginning and end point
Ray
a straight line that goes infinitely in 1 direction
Angle
2 rays with common endpoints
Perpendicular Lines
2 intersecting lines that form right angles
Parallel Lines
these lines never intersect each endpoint corresponds to the other lines points
Right Angle
90 degrees
Acute Angles
less than 90 degrees
Obtuse Angles
greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees
Adjacent Angles
Next to each other, share same vertex, common sides, interiors are disjoint
Complementary Angles
2 or more angles that total 90 degrees
Supplementary Angles
2 or more angles that total 180 degrees
Can 2 obtuse angles be supplrmrntary?
No, because 2 obtuse angles will equal more than 180 degrees
Can 2 acute angles be suplementary?
No, because 2 acute angles will always each be less than 90 degrees
