A

Strike Team- Multiple units of the same resource category that have an assigned team leader. EX. 5 brush trucks assigned to a geographical division of a forest fire.

Task Force- Any combination of single resources but typically 2-5 assembled to meet a specific tactical need. Ex. 2 engines, 2 tankers and a brush truck assigned to protect a neighborhood.

A

Strategy- General plan or course of action for preventing or reducing the effects of an incident.

Tactics- Tasks and methods to accomplish the selected strategy.

What is Tier II reporting?

A

Tier II reports are required to be submitted whenever a facility stores more than a Threshold Planning Quantity (TPQ) of an extremely hazardous substance or more than 10,000 pounds of any hazardous substance. The EPS maintains a list of the amounts of extremely hazardous substances considered TPQ. Any amount past these thresholds must be on the Tier II report. All Tier II reports must be filed with the local fire department as well as the Local Emergency Planning Committee and the State Emergency Response Coordinator.
