The core

A

Ball of solid(inner), because of a high pressure and liquid(outer) iron and nickel.

Mantle

A

Around the core. It is semi-molten rock which moves very slowly.

7
Q

Why are tectonic plates moving?

A

Because of convection currents in the outer mantle under the crust.

Q

Destructive margin

A

Two plates are moving towards each other. When plates collide, the ground is folded and forced upwards to create mountains. When oceanic and continental, volcanoes are formed.

Q

Constructive margin

A

When two plates are moving away from each other. Magma rises and fill the gap and cools, create a new crust.

A
