A
The ability of ligands to activate the receptor (cause confirmation change)

What is drug bioavailability?
A
- the fraction of the dose given that reaches a specific compartment in the body
- F = amount reaching systematic circulation/total drug given in IV

What are phase 1 enzymes?

- Cytochrome P450 (CYP450s)
- in liver
- REDOX reactions
- Induction - increased level of expression of CYP450
- Inhibition - rate of elimination slowed down
