The probability of harmful consequences or expected losses( deaths- injuries -livelihood -assets-services) resulting from the interactions between natural or human induced hazards and vulnerable conditions
Disaster Risk
Widely recognized as the consequence of the interaction between a hazard and the characteristics that make people and places vulnerable and exposed

The ability of communities societies and systems to resist absorb accomodate recover from disasters whilst at the same time improve well being
Resilience
Volcanoes earthquakes floods wildfires and mudslides often permanently alter an area’s landscape leading in some cases to the destruction of local species
Environment
Even a minor storm can cause considerable damage
Economy
Disasters sometimes lead to a disruption in utility service background around impacted area. Medical assistance is often slowed. Bankw and other establishments are closed affecting people’s income.
Indirect effects
Buildings collapse or are swept away.
Physical Destruction
The effect of disasters to a persons’s emotions are often much more devastating due to the death of a loved one, whole communities being displaced, or separation of friends and neighbours. Victims face anxiety, depression and post traumatic stress disorder.
