new cases of disease or disability
prevalence
existing cases of disease or disability
Tertiary
- this is where treatment & rehabiliton efforts are made after a person has gotten ill.
Neuron
- transmit information to the brain (thru electricity ions)
synaps
space between two neurons
(a junction between two nerve cells, consisting of a minute gap across which impulses pass by diffusion of a neurotransmitter.)
Endogenous depression-
internal
Exogenous depression -
external
Dendrite
a short branched extension of a nerve cell, along which impulses received from other cells at synapses are transmitted to the cell body.
Axon
the long threadlike part of a nerve cell along which impulses are conducted from the cell body to other cells.
Receptors
A specialized cell or group of nerve endings that responds to sensory stimuli.
(Are open)
Cell Body
the spherical part of the neuron that contains the nucleus. The cell body connects to the dendrites, which bring information to the neuron, and the axon, which sends information to other neurons.
Mental disorder that occurs during the winter
Seasonal affective disorders
Panic attack
sudden rapid onset of disabling terror
Social phobia
Fear of speaking in public
Obsessive compulsive disorders
Obsessive thoughts
