Q

Purpose of ramp or inspiratory rise time

A

The use of a ramp is to match the way we naturally breathe. Normally, a person intakes more air in at the start of their inspiration, then less as the breath goes on until expiration happens. (DIctates how fast the pressure reaches peak)
