TUF

A

Treatment of Underlying Forms (Thompson et al.)

—appraoch is focused on aspects of language that are impaired in agrammatic aphasia, control lexical and syntactic properties of trained and untrained sentences

—this treatment proceeds by training complex rather than simple syntactic structures

  1. pt is first is asked to point to one of 2 pictures matching the auditorialy presented sentence
  2. examiner then makes a sentence for one of the pictures and the pt is required to produce a similar sentence for the semantically reversed picture

—can be done for production too!!!
