Protects files from being copied without permission or protect innovation.
What are the 3 offences of computer misuses act (1990)?
Unauthorised:
1) access to computer material .
2) access with intent to commit further offences
3) modification of a computer/programs
What does the data protection act (1998) do ?
Control use of personal data or prevent the misuse of your personal info.
What are the 8 data protection act ?
1) data must me use in a fair and lawful way
2) data must be use for a specific purpose
3) data should be adequate and relevant and not excessive for the specified use .
4) data should be accurate and kept up to date
5) data should not be use longer than is necessary .
6) the right of data subject must be observed
7) the data should be kept safe and secure
8) the data should not transferred abroad without adequate protection.
What does the freedom of information act (2000) do ?
Allow people to find out Information about public organisations or allow public access to data .
What’s does the creative commons licencing do ?
Make use of copyright laws to protect works whilst allowing them to be shared . Or allow legal file sharing .
Name a ethical issue .
Increasing in monitoring people via cctv and computer networks has reduced the level of privacy we have .
Name a cultural issue
The digital divide : urban areas are likely to have greater network coverage than rural areas . Some people don’t have enough money to buy new devices like smartphones and laptops .
Name an environmental issues
Computer use large quantities of raw materials and energy.
Disposing old computer equipment is costly to the environment (toxic)
How do you reduce E-waste?
The waste electric and electronic equipment (WEEE) was created to tackle the e-waste problem. By disposing of e-waste safely to promote reuse and recycling , which cut cost by sending to African and Asian countries where regulation are less strict .

How do you reduce the amount of energy wasted by devices?
Use a virtual server which act as software based rather than a real machines .
.most modern devices include sleep and hibernation mode to reduce their power consumption when they are idle.
Dont leave electronic devices on standby.
