natural law theory: medical science= permissible in name of faith
- for SC research, embryo is (or isn’t) person, policies can (cant) be made against abortion for cells or cloning

embryos are the most vulnerable and when they are not conflicting with another right to life, they must be protected (future of values argument)
-desirable end, unjustifiable mean= seek alternatives

40 day intervals of gestation- to 4 month barrier = “ensoulment”= quickening (independent movement of fetus from mother)

  • prior to 4 mo, abortion is permissible
  • research is act of faith and brings us closer to devine

A

false positive- tested positive for harm in animals, wouldn’t harm humans
false negative- tested negative for harm in animals, will harm humans
false efficacy- tested effective in animals, not humans
false inefficacy- not effective in animals, effective in humans
-1 and 4= worst bc actually removing viable treatments
