Delirium can sometimes arise as a consequence of medication use. The following list highlights some of the more common medications that can cause delirium:-

Anticholinergic drugs (tricyclic antidepressants)
Sedative hypnotics (benzodiazepines)
Corticosteroids
Anti-Parkinson drugs (benztropine, trihexyphenidyl)
Histamine-2 (H2) blockers (cimetidine, ranitidine)
Centrally acting antihypertensives (methyldopa, reserpine)
Pain medication (opiates)
