She took a whip and the shiny reins, and she whipped them (the mules) into motion; there was a clatter from the two mules. They continually trotted, and they carried the clothing and the girl, not alone since the other attendants also went at the same time as her. When they arrived at the very beautiful stream of the river, where those washing-basins were always full, and much beautiful water would flow out to clean even what was very soiled - there, the women released the mules from under the wagon. And they chased the mules along the riverbank to eat the honey-sweet grass. They took the clothes out of the wagon with their hands and they carried them to the shaded water, and they rapidly trod on them in troughs, showing a competition.
