It is with great honor that I am here to make a speech before you. I bring you the warm greeting and friendly sentiment of the President of the United States and the American people. For an American of my generation, to visit the People’s Republic of China is to touch the pulse of modern political history.

For example, the greatest growth in international tourism has paralleled the growth of air transportation.
