Setting
Where or when a story takes place
Protagonist
The main character
Plot
The events in a story.
Antagonist
The opposing face, bad guy that brings conflict two the protagonist
Complications
The struggle between opposing faces. This drives the story.
Exposition
The beginning of the story, the introduction, when the setting and character are introduced.
Inciting Incident
This sets the story in motion, makes the rest of the story possible.
Rising Action
Main part of the story, conflict is introduced, and moves the plot along.
Climax
The turning point in the story, the OMG, most intense part of the story.
Falling Action
The event after the climax and leads to the resolution, conflict begins to get solved.
Resolution
The end of the story, where the conflict gets resolved.
Foreshadowing
Be a warning or indication of a future event.
Cliffhanger
When a book, show, and movie are left off at the climax or exciting part.
Suspense
A state or feeling of excited or anxious uncertainty about what may happen.
Flashback
When a book, show, and movie goes to the past to show a scene or something.
Malicious
Wanting to harm someone
Malignant
Bad or harmful: producing death
Malaria
Disease spread by mosquitoes
Malpractice
Performing ones duty bad or wrong
