  • Intubate early to improve oxygenation/ventilation

A

Primary: Pressure wave causes rupture of air filled organs and air emboli.
Secondary: Injuries result from debris or shrapnel
Tertiary: Blunt trauma as a result of being thrown
Quaternary: Smoke inhalation, burns, toxic gases, crush injuries…
