Communications

A

FAP - at L1, used by the CSM.

ACP- ceiling mounted lights.

Blue for pax calls

Pink for phone system calls.

Amber for toilet related problems.

AIP- at every station above the phone. Red and green light and small text area. Normal messages aligned on upper level, emergency on lower level.

AAP - at L2, L3 and L4 on 300 but not at L3 on most 200s.

Normal Calls:

Pink Light on the ACP,

Hi Lo chime, and

Green steady light on AIP with the call origin in text.

Emergency Calls:

PRIO ALL indications

FD;

Emergency call light in Amber

3 buzzer sounds

Cabin;

3 Hi Lo chimes

Pink flashing lights on ACP

AIP steady red and call ID.

PRIO CAPT - same indications on FD as a PRIO ALL.

EVAC command:

If CAPT/PURS switch on FD is in the CAPT position and the CSM commands an evac from the FAP, only the FD is notified. If the switch is in the CAPT/PURS position the CSM can initiate an evacuation but SOPs state that an attempt to contact the FD will be made first.
