Q

Get obsessed.

A

Brie lingo: Want to build social connections that expand your life and grow your business? Need to build your innovation muscles and allow more joy into your life?

Get a hobby.

Yep, that’s it. Hobby by no means are a β€œwaste of time”. Just because they may not bring in the moola doesn’t mean they don’t benefit your life and business.

The happier you are, the better you do and the kinder gal you are – to yourself, lover, baby and team.

Make time to do what brings you joy.

Q

Schedule a time to do your hobby.

A

Brendon: If you’re going to advance your joy and skill in your hobby, you need to schedule it.

That may sound odd to the casual hobbyist, but that’s why they’re casual and not fulfilled. The great thinkers, artists, musicians, entertainers and leaders all had hobbies that they gave real time to.

Let this really sink in. Your hobbies are worth exploring and scheduling for they can turn into real careers, passions or contributions.

Q

Dabble.

A

Brendon: Typa-A achievers and old-school personal development trainers hate dabbling. They think it’s a waste of time but Leonardo Da Vinci and Benjamin Franklin were tinkers; Thoreau and Kerouac were wanders; Jobs and Gates were generalists.

Dabbling does not make you waste life, it make you well-rounded. Try different hobbies and pursuits. Explore the world of activities and adventures. Learn a lot of things that might not be immediately useful.

Just know that you are enlarging your circle of understanding about the world and that’s okay. The is to, yes you guessed it, schedule it.

Dabbling in random moments is distraction but dabbling to learn and explore is mastery.
