Q

How does an spirometer work ?

A
  • person breathes through a tube connected to the oxygen chamber .
  • as the person breathes in and out , the lid of the chamber moves up and down .
  • recorded by the pen attached to the lid
  • this writes on a rotating drum , creating a spirometer trace .
  • The soda lime attached to the tube where person is breathing out absorbs the carbon dioxide .
