Why is the Messiah important?

• Person who will lead the Jewish people back to
  Israel in the End of the Days
• Messianic Age will come when Jews bring about peace and justice – they work towards it
• Key teaching of the Jewish faith – daily prayers
  for the coming of the Messiah

Divergent attitudes:

• Reformed Jews do not necessarily believe in a single Messiah, rather it is the duty of Jews to work together to bring about change
• Some Jews believe in a Messiah in every age, whereas many believe that everyone is a Messiah and should work towards a better world
• Traditional Jews believe the Messiah will only come when all Jews follow the Mitzvots, and then the resurrection of the dead will take place
