  • Recognition of work & contribution
  • Sense of identity

Cons:

  • Only seen as the carer
  • Puts people in a role they may not want to be in
  • Others would prefer to be defined as eg: ‘mother’/ ‘son’ etc…
  • Undermimes the person they are caring for
