FAR 61.103

a. Be at least 17 years of age
b. Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
c. Hold at least a Third class medical certificate.
d. Received the required ground and flight training endorsements
e. Meet the applicable aeronautical experience requirements FAR 61.109
f. Passed the required knowledge and practical tests
g. Hold a U.S student pilot certificate, sport pilot certificate, or recreational pilot certificate

A

FAR 61.57

a. No person may act as PIC of an aircraft carrying passengers unless 3 takeoffs and landings within the preceding 90 days and as the sole manipulator of the controls and in the same category and class (and type rating if required)
b. If tailwheel, TOLs must be full stop in a tailwheel airplane
c. FAR 61.57(b): Night recency is the same, but the 3 landings must be made to a full stop
d. Biennial Flight Review. 24 calendar months, Checkride resets the BFR clock

Currency: A pilot has met the FAA Regulatory requirements in a specific time period so they can exercise the privileges of their Certificate
