A

obstructed osia (obstruction of the openings of the sinuses into the nasal cavity)

  • viral, bacterial
  • allergy
  • nasal polyps

Manifestations of rhinosinusitis?

A
  • Can be acute, subacute or chronic
  • similar to common cold
  • headaches
  • facial pain
  • fever
  • nasal discharge

Diagnostics of rhinosinusitis?

A
  • history, physical

- chronic cases: xray; CT scan

A
  • Antibiotics; topical steroids (nasal spray)
  • Mucolytic agents
