  • Lambert Simnel pretended to be the Earl of Warwick on the Earl of Lincoln’s (Pole) commands
  • Henry responded by exhibiting the real earl of Warwick
  • Lincoln persuaded M of B to pay mercenaries to invade England
  • Yorkists very reluctant to join in

  • Earl of Lincoln killed in the battle during an easy victory for Henry
  • This was seen as the end of the Wars of the Roses however Henry’s position was still not safe
