CKD in dogs is much less common in dogs. The worry about using NSAIDs is if they are borderline dehydrated can cause more damage so owner must not restrict fluid. And can cause GI pain exascerbating dehydration.

Second options: aren’t great things like tramadol which may or may not have much beneficial effect but can make them more subdued and pain control not sure. Tramadol can you make you completely monged. Other options exercise, acupuncture and hydrotherapy. Paracetomol is another option which is licensed.
