* The “o” is dropped off the end of “primero” and “tercero” (not “segundo…cuarto”, etc.) when it describes any MASCULINE, SINGULAR NOUN (eg. El día, EL chico) …. ¿Por qué?…… Porque (a linguist could tell you.) One just needs to learn this.
