-Ca intercellularly maintains tone of SMC + myocardial cells. enters through VGCC triggering SR to release more Ca leading to muscle contraction
-Ca ch, blockers inhibit the L type VGCC in vascular SMC
myocardium, and vasodilation leading to: decrease in CO, TPR, Ic Ca
